Things To Do In Indiana

Jack and I have lived in Indiana for over twenty years and have yet to see everything the diverse Midwest State has to offer. We are weekend warriors,  day trip enthusiasts, and road trip lovers. I like to keep dozens of plans ready to go, so I already have a few places in mind when we have a day (or more) to explore. Not all our travels are in Indiana, but many are.

This is where I will create my hub for everything we have yet to do in Indiana and share what we have done. This is a live post that will be ever-changing. I want to create a place where I can go and pick out something for Jack and me to explore next, as well as a place for you to do the same. That way, we can be ready at a moment’s notice to hit the road and explore more of what Indiana has to offer.

How I Am Organizing Things

Until I started this mega post, I used a folder in Google Docs where I kept pages marked “one hour from home,” “two hours from home,” etc. But they were starting to get cumbersome, and now that this will be shared in public spaces, and you don’t live in my home, those parameters will not work.

After much thought, I decided to divide Indiana using the same system as the IN Indiana website.

What I am Including To Explore In Each Place

I will be selfish and share what matters most to Jack and me. Our favorite things to explore include museums, art galleries, hiking paths, bike paths, kayaking routes, waterfalls, roadside oddities, murals, antique stores,  local specialty shops, and unique eateries.

How This Page Will Grow

I will start by listing the regions and the counties under those. I will create a separate blog page for each county where you will find the major centers and what to do in each. When the article about that particular county is live, I will link it. When the county’s name turns blue, you will know it is ready to read. When we explore that area, I will return to that post and update it with pictures and our experiences.

In time, this page will become a scrapbook album of places we have been and a bucket list of places we hope to go—all of which will be in Indiana.

If you are looking for things to do in a particular city in Indiana and don’t know the county, ask Siri or Google it. Then, return to this page to click on the county the city you are interested in is in.
