Think of this page as our family photo book of places we have enjoyed in one calendar year.
To make it as simple as possible for our readers to get out there and explore the same places we have enjoyed, we have included the links to the places we hiked, camped, stayed, ate, and more.
We have also included places either one of us or both of us went with one, two, or all of our kids.

Ackland Art Museum, Chapel Hill, NC
Worth a visit! It took us over an hour to see all the art on display. I found it to be more than an art museum; I also learned much about history.

Time-Out Restaurant In Chapel Hill, NC
Famous for their Chicken n’ Cheddar biscuit! And it lived up to the hype. We also tried their cinnamon rolls, and they were oh-so-good too!

Oak Island, NC
Victoria and Courtney spent a few days and nights at an oceanside Airbnb on Oak Island, NC. The dogs came too, of course! We spent our days walking the beaches or gazing at the ocean from the deck.
This is a great place to come in winter as it is still warm-ish, and the beaches are empty!

Myrtle Beach State Park, SC

Courtney had yet to mark South Carolina on her visited States list, and with Oak Island being so close to the South Carolina border, we decided to take a day of our vacation to explore it.
After spending several days in a beach house Myrtle Beach seemed crowded to us, yet looking at these photos, there weren’t many people.
It is a very pretty State park, and the beach is much less busy than those in the city of the same name.

Duck Donuts
There are currently over 100 Duck Donuts locations across America. This was our first time trying them. They freshly top the donuts with your choice of toppings for you. Oh wow! If we are in another town that has one, we are stopping.
I also tried the iced coffee; it was okay but not extraordinary,

Huntington Beach State Park SC

If you want to see a live alligator, you have a great chance of seeing one in this park. This was my second visit to the park; each time I have gone, I have seen an alligator.

Downtown Pittsboro, NC
For Courtney’s last day visiting with us, I took her to downtown Pittsboro, NC, a town with a main street full of life. The bakery and the chocolate shop are a must-visit for sweet tooths. And if you love a good cup of strong coffee Aromatic Roasters makes a great one.

Old Bynum Bridge Pittsboro, NC
I enjoyed seeing the graffiti art on this bridge in late 2022 with Jack and wanted to show it to Courtney. There were some new pieces of art on it.

Flaming Amy’s Burrito Barn, Wilmington, NC
This is a highly-rated burrito restaurant in Wilmington, and now that we have eaten there, I can see why. My favorite part was the salsa bar, with many unique types. The burrito was good, but the unique salsas put it over the top.
